Once again, we are sad to have lost a long-time member.  Vern Wellburn passed away from cancer on Friday May 11th, 2012.- He died at home, with family, the way he wanted to.  He was very comfortable right up to the night he passed.  Vern was ready and at peace with his passing.

A celebration of life will be held from 2:00 to 4:00 on Saturday May 26th 2012 at the Travelodge Hotel and Convention Centre, 140 Trans Canada Highway in Duncan.

Vern was a Vintage Car club of Canada member for over 50 years, having participated in the club's first run - the 1958 B.C. Centennial Tour from Fernie to Victoria.  After that, he rarely missed a VCCC May Tour.  He was also an original member of the Antique Chapter and rarely missed attending the June Tour with one of his antiques.  He was a great friend and a true gentleman who will be missed by all of us.

We are saddened to pass on the news that Pat Wellburn has passed away.  Pat was a regular on our chapter tours, riding alongside Vern in their 1910 Stanley.

Pat passed away peacefully after a long illness.  She is survived by her loving husband Vern, her daughter, Melissa Cowan, sons Scott, Cameron and David Graham, seven grandchildren and one great granddaughter.

In 1992 she met Vern and they were married.  In 1994 she retired and they moved to Duncan.  They had a wonderful time traveling, going on vintage car tours, buying antiques and walking their two dogs.  Pat was a member of the I.O.D.E and enjoyed their gardening tours; she was an enthusiastic member of the Vintage Car club. She volunteered at the Cowichan Hospital, the Cowichan Seniors’ Community Foundation and at the B.C. Forest Discovery Center.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Monday, April 23rd at St. Peter’s church in Duncan.

It is with much sadness and heavy hearts that we have to inform his many friends and fellow club members that John Reilly has lost his fight with colon cancer. He passed away on November 4, 2009 at Queen's Park Care Centre Hospice in New Westminster.

John is survived by Bess, his wife of 56 years, their three children, their spouses and 7 grand children. He was a longtime member of the Vintage Car Club of Canada who was fully involved with this club as well as the H.C.C.A. Over the past 40 years he was National President, National Governor, as well as having held many other positions in the VCCC. His big infectious smile and jolly approach to everything will be missed by us all.

Our best wishes and prayers go out to Bess and the family during this time of such loss.
