On August 13 about 15 chapter members
(and a few guests) met for the mid-August Breakfast run. For
those of you who missed it - you missed a nice easy drive on a
beautiful sunny day. Maybe next year? After a terrific breakfast at Peter and Teresa Findlay's home, we set out across the Queensborough Bridge and onto River Road on Lulu Island. The drive was scenic as we followed the North Arm of the Fraser River, stopping midway at a delightful riverside park for water, photos, and even a few blackberries! Eventually we made our way across the Arthur Laing Bridge and wound our way through Marpole and Kerrisdale, ending up at the site of the 2nd Annual Ronald Mcdonald Charity Car Show. At that point, some departed while a few of us stayed on for the show to ensure that they had some REAL old cars there. Among the other gleaming cars were Cadillacs belonging to VCCC members Earl & June Tucker and Dave Neumeyer. The Car Show was a good opportunity to show some Antique Chapter Cars and also support a good cause. All in all, it was a great day - thanks to all those who participated: |
