June Tour 2009 - Suncoast Fun
June 5 - 7, 2009
It’s been a while since we actually had
an annual tour under sunny skies, but this year’s SunCoast Fun Tour
lived up to its name perfectly. The weather was perfect - sunny
and warm, but not too hot. The tour was packed with good drives
and lots of fun on the Sunshine Coast. Ken Findlay and Peter
Trant did a great job in organizing this event.
About 25 cars participated in this year’s event, representing BC,
Washington, and Alberta. For the first time cars up to 1927 were
invited and five post-1915 cars registered. It was a great
collection of cars.
The 2009 June Tour was packed with great memories:
• Paul Carter’s 1908 Cadillac - first time out for this original beauty (People’s Choice)
• Ray Fowler’s entertaining “cross country” presentation at the banquet
• cruising on the Malibu Princess
• tackling the hills of the Sunshine Coast
• putting the top UP because of too much sun!
• brunch at the golf course
• pushing several cars to get them started on the ferry
• visiting with friends from out-of-province
• lots of good food and scenic drives
